Take A Sneak Peek Inside...
Milky Way Post-Processing
In-Focus
Recorded especially for my Milky Way photo workshop clients in 2021, this course is now available to everyone for the first time ever.

In less than 2hrs the course covers these 3 typical scenarios...
SINGLE EXPOSURES
Before
After
Often we either don't have the time or we were not aware of how to stack photos to reduce noise, so we only have a single exposure of the Milky Way. Follow along with me as I take this single-exposure photo and post-process it using DxO PureRAW and Lightroom.
Stacked Photos
Before
After
To help reduce noise we often stack our Milky Way photos, and in this lesson you can follow along with the downloadable RAW files to stack 21 shots. I'll show you how to prep the photos for stacking in Capture One Pro (while explaining any differences for Lightroom users), then we will stack the photos in Starry Landscape Stacker and do more enhancements in Photoshop and Luminar.
Blending Different Exposures
Before
After
Done the right way, blending exposures can help bring more detail to your foreground while also creating a natural-looking photo. In this lesson I'll show you how I do it using Photoshop and a free luminosity plugin to create an accurate and detailed mask.
Part of My
In-Focus
Series of Photography Courses
that are designed to get you up to speed with what you need to know in only a couple of hours on average

They are focused on just the specific things you need to know without all the fluff & bloat that other courses "feature," because if you're like me, you just don’t have the time for those super long 10 or 15 hour courses that often just waste your time instead of efficiently helping you solve your problems.
This In-focus course Includes:
Processing a Single-Exposure Image
Using Lightroom (and DxO PureRAW for noise) I'll show you how to best post-process a single exposure image. Follow along with the same downloadable RAW file.
Prepare Photos for Stacking
Using Capture One Pro (while I explain how to achieve the same in Lightroom) I will show you the important steps to getting your files ready for stacking. Follow along with the 21 included RAW files.
Stacking Photos with Starry Landscape Stacker
Using Starry Landscape Stacker I'll show you how to stack 21 shots to help reduce the noise in this photo.
Further Enhancing Stacked Photo in Photoshop
After stacking, we will take the resulting photo and use Camera RAW in Photoshop to bring the photo to life.
Further Enhancing Stacked Photo in Luminar AI
I'll walk you through how a quick trip to Luminar AI puts the finishing touches on the photo. (Note: the techniques shown in Luminar AI can also be done in Luminar Neo.)
Star Reduction
Sometimes you can have too many stars in your photo! I'll show you an effective way to minimize some of those stars using Photoshop to make the Milky Way stand out more.
Using the High-Pass Filter in Photoshop for Extra Detail
Using the High-Pass filter in Photoshop correctly we can bring out even more detail in the Milky Way, and I'll show you how.
Blending a Lighter Foreground with a Night Sky
I'll show you all the steps involved in using a free luminosity plugin for Photoshop so we can create a detailed mask that is perfect for blending 2 exposures, and you can follow along by downloading the same files.
